Dynasty ha firmado con Smart Parts un nuevo contrato de patrocinio. En muchos foros se está hablando de ellos como vendidos o incluso como nazis. Kevin ha posteado esto en su web y me ha dado permiso para traducirlo aquí:

Well recently my team signed a sponsorship deal with Smart Parts for the 2004 season. For whatever reason people all over the internet and forums have called Adam and Billy Gardner Nazi’s. By the way I am German and one of my great granfathers names was Adolf. I have heard crazy quotes like “the most hated company in the industry” etc etc. How shockers are a pieces of crap and how all smart parts stuff sucks. (Isn’t that funny that the shitty smart parts stuff won both the nxl and xball division 1 title at world cup) in my good friend LB’s words “Weird”. Well now many people have also said Dynasty sold out and sold it soul to the devil and how we are spoiled brats and are ungrateful. (Personally smart parts makes their guns in the USA, for all you patriots ) Well if selling out means you as a team makes a wise business decision, can go to more tournaments than we have ever been to, get health insurance for the team, and help out our players with school, and try to earn a living doing what you love. By all means we sold out. The way sponsorship works is with money, not give your friend a good deal but money, that is why when you sign a sponsorship deal there is a contract with lawyers, it is a business deal, we arent exactly selling our friend a used car. So the team decided to part ways with WDP and move on to Smart Parts.

At a recent practice before world cup Todd blew his knee out (or screwed it up or something ) now this brings us to a dilema what kind of pro sport says to there players oh well to bad it is your fault you got hurt at a teams practice, you deal with the medical bills. I personally believe a pro team should be able to take care of its own. Up until now we would have never have had the chance to do that. With Smart Parts we can. Many younger players dont quite understand how much time tournament paintball really takes up, between all the traveling it is almost impossible to hold a full time job outside the industry.

Which brings me to another point, we were criticised all year about our sponsorship with WDP and how the reffs let us make it into the finals, because we were their team. Well I would like to see those people say that again this coming year. Anyone who really knows us realizes that it isnt WDP or the NPPL or Pure Promotions who bribed the reffs for us. It was our mom’s, they didnt come to the tournaments to watch us, they came with fanny packs loaded with cash, to hand out to all of the reffs. Just ask John Amodea.

I had a good time being sponsored by WDP the past 3 years and I think they are good people and have a great gun. I would especially like to thank the techs, who put up with me for quite some time, in no particular order Trevor, Oleg, Eric, Josh, Sean, Ken(even though I think you registered Dynastyshocker.com), Chris, Graham, Russ, Paul, and I am sure I am missing someone but thats the best I can do off the top of my head. I also would like to thank some of the cool people that work for, with or are closely associated with WDP like Steena, Charlette, Kevin, Frazier, John, and Will. It also wouldnt have been possible without those owners Jed, Matt and John. And last and definately least I would like to thank Owen even though he writes me mean emails. I would just like to personally thank WDP for what they have done to me and they are at the least partially responsible for where I am now. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Los nazis no usan sombreros de cowboy

Bien, recientemente mi equipo ha firmado un contrato de patrocinio con Smart Parts para la temporada 2004. Por la razón que sea en internet y en los foros se ha estado llamando nazis a Adam y Billy Gardner. Yo soy alemán y uno de mis bisabuelos se llamaba Adolf. He oído cosas absurdas como “la compañía mas odiada del mundo”, “las shockers son

una mierda” y “todos los productos de Smart Parts dan asco” (no deja de ser curioso que la mierda de Smart Parts ganase la NXL y la División 1 en la World Cup); en palabras de mi buen amigo LB: curioso. Ahora mucha gente dice que Dynasty se ha vendido y que ha vendido su alma al diablo y que somos unos niños malcriados y unos desagradecidos (precisamente Smart Parts fabrica sus marcadoras en USA, para vosotros los patriotas). Bien, si venderse quiere decir tomar una decisión inteligente, poder ir a más torneos que nunca, tener seguro médico para el equipo, ayudar a los jugadores con sus estudios y tratar de ganarse la vida con aquello que amas, entonces, sin duda, nos hemos vendido. La forma en que los patrocinios funcionan es con dinero, no a base de hacer buenas ofertas a tus amigos; es por eso que cuando firmas un patrocinio hay un acuerdo con abogados; se trata de un negocio, no de venderle a un amigo un coche usado. Así que el equipo decidió dejar WDP y firmar con Smart Parts.

Hace poco, en un entrenamiento antes de la World Cup, Todd se destrozó la rodilla (o se hizo daño, o algo), esto nos ha hecho pensar qué deporte profesional le dice a sus jugadores “vale, mala suerte, es culpa tuya haberte hecho daño en el entrenamiento, tienes que pagar tus gastos médicos”. Creo que un equipo profesional debe ser capaz de solucionar estas cosas. Hasta ahora nunca habíamos tenido la oportunidad de hacerlo. Con Smart Parts podremos. Muchos jugadores jóvenes no entienden bien cuanto tiempo hay que dedicarle al paintball de competición; con todos los viajes es casi imposible tener un trabajo a tiempo completo fuera de la industria.

Lo que me lleva a otro tema. Hemos sido criticados durante todo el año por nuestro patrocinio con WDP y por como los árbitros nos colaban en las finales por ser su equipo. Bien, me gustaría ver a toda esa gente decir eso otra vez este año. Cualquiera que realmente nos conozca sabe que no son WDP, la NPPL o Pure Promotions quienes sobornan a los árbitros por nosotros. Son nuestras madres; ellas no vienen a los torneos a vernos, vienen con riñoneras llenas de dinero para dar a los árbitros. Ha estado bien estar sponsorizado por WDP durante los últimos 3 años, y creo que son buena gente y que tienen una gran marcadora. Me gustaría dar las gracias a los técnicos, que me han aguantado durante bastante tiempo; sin ningún orden especial Trevor, Oleg, Eric, Josh, Sean, Ken (aunque registrase dynastyshockers.com), Chris, Graham, Russ, Paul y seguro que me olvido a alguien, pero es lo mejor que puede hacer mi cabeza. Me gustaría también dar las gracias a la fantástica gente que trabaja o está intimamente relacionada con WDP como Steena, Charlette, Kevin, Frazier, John, Bart y Will. Además, todo esto tampoco habría sido posible sin los dueños Jed, Matt y John. Y por último y definitivamente el último, me gustaría dar las gracias a Owen aunque me escriba mails crueles.
